Capcom has released details on the free Championship Mode update that is due for an April 24th launch on PS3. The update will introduce a tournament mode with a range of features to accomodate it. Features include a point scoring system that ranks and matches players in tournaments based on their win ratio. On top of this, fighters who manage to win a whole tournament will be rewarded with Championship Points (CP). The top 5,000 players with the most CP will be granted the privilege of being able to upload replays of their own matches, whilst the rest of us get to use the PS3-exclusive video rating system to weed out the masterful from the hilarious, and so on.
Capcom’s Seth Killian compares this functionality to having “the best cable channel in the world for free.”

The 360 gets better exclusive features:
“The Xbox 360, on the other hand, gets a couple interesting functions of its own: On-screen display of input keys and the ability to download replays to any media to the Xbox 360’s HDD or memory card and then upload those replays for off-line viewing.” via h*tp://kotaku.com/5215857/free-street-fighter-iv-championship-mode-dated-brings-new-features

@carl
the xbot’s deserve it as they have to deal with the 360 pad which for me anyway is not up to scratch for SF4.
