I got a message from GAME saying tomorrow afternoon. I think it’s best to get there at 8 to be certain. I hope they don’t try forcing some ridiculous £900 package on me.
Comment by Sean — Feb 9, 2007 @ 3:56 pm
diff true about GAME they rang my friends too
Comment by marko — Feb 9, 2007 @ 4:27 pm
Game is definetly taking from tomorrow, midday, i am NO.1 on list in my town and i know the manager, he just assured me and confirmed me as ps3 +2 games around 500! He said there will be a great surprise, and unlike other shops GAME have not jumped the gun! The official preorder did not start Sat noon, and that Sony will insist on people buying ps3 and at least one game to stop all the people that just buy for an ebay profit!
Comment by terry — Feb 9, 2007 @ 5:26 pm

Game text’d me today to say they will be taking pre-orders at 11am Tomorrow (Sat).
I ordered from Argos Last Friday (Boo took full payment when ordered!!) but received a letter in post today to say I will receive my PS3 by courier on Fri 23rd (Job done)
Argos seem to be still taking orders and they claim they will only take orders until they have allocated stock. I cant beleive 1 week on they havn’t sold them all!!
I can’t wait until Fri 23rd March (No sleep for weeks)
Comment by Redbull — Feb 9, 2007 @ 11:18 pm
Sony is working hard to make this the best launch yet i give them alot of credit for that, the Pal people may have to wait a couple of months to get their hands of the most powerfull console, but the wait is gonna be very well worth it!

Comment by mark — Feb 10, 2007 @ 9:25 pm
Pre-ordered from GAME today around 1ish for £50 plus my reward card im number 4 in my queue i went to GAME today as i said but i woke up a bit late around 11′ish and came in 4th for orders when i should always be acheiving 1st .
When i got there i pre-ordered for £50 i was then guaranteed a ps3 i went to sit down on their sofa.
Whilst i was sitting on their sofa playing on a console *im to ashamed to name* the staff that done my pre-order came up to me and said that she forgot to tick my £50 deposit paid box *jaw drops* i mean come on you shouldnt forget a thing like that of all things. thats like suicide man.
So anyways i got to choose resistance as a game as its limited availability , a hdmi cable and a second six-axis controller im even thinking about not buying a second controller from GAME as Argos is cheaper.
On launch day Argos six-axis controller will cost £29.99 (instore) but £29.99 plus £4.95 for delivery (online) whilst GAME hasnt given a price yet but i expect it to be at least the normal price of £35.00.
Anyways does any one know what second game i should get? They said i can come instore anytime before launch and add other accessories and games to my pre-order list. SPITZ OUT

Comment by Jonsiuk — Feb 12, 2007 @ 12:38 am
Pre-ordered mine from good ol’ Argos on the 2nd (I think - can’t remember! lol), they took all the cash str8 away leaving me with no money for the rest of the month (gonna need some careful financial planning from here on in
).
Got a letter recently stating I’m getting one delivered on the 23rd March (score!), only thing is now I’ve got to wait till the last day of feb to pre-order the games, which I’m pretty nervous they’ll sell out of before I get a chance. Still I got me a console and that’s all that matters for now…
Planning on getting:
Motorstorm
Resistance: Fall of man
F1 Championship Edition
Blu-Ray remote
SIXAXIS pad (extra one)
Ps2/1 Mem card reader
Fingers crossed! and NOBODY BUY ANY MORE GAMES TILL I GOT MINE! LEAVE SOME FOR ME…lol
Comment by Xeauron — Feb 12, 2007 @ 1:18 pm
Ordered a couple of bundles from Woolworths. Both are confirmed orders as Woolworths are not taking more preorders than they have allocated stock (10,000 units).
Comment by reakt — Feb 12, 2007 @ 1:24 pm
i have a deposit at game , someone on the phone said if you have a deposit then you are guaranteed a machine on launch day, can this be true?
Comment by phil — Feb 12, 2007 @ 2:59 pm
I work for game and every single pre order is guarenteed for launch and as soon as the stock promised to Game by Sony is reached the preorders will be stopped. The only reason you will not get a PS3 at launch is if Sony have problems delivering what they promise
Comment by Dave — Feb 12, 2007 @ 4:10 pm
Hope everyone finds this of assistance for them =] Good luck on getting a PS3 on the 23rd!
Comment by Tom Eccles — Feb 12, 2007 @ 4:29 pm

Comment by FU666AR — Feb 12, 2007 @ 5:17 pm
Edge have slagged off F1 quite a lot - 4/10
Comment by FU666AR — Feb 12, 2007 @ 5:40 pm
Edge are rubbish though! Who actually listens to them?
Comment by Zed — Feb 12, 2007 @ 5:49 pm
Just ‘pre-ordered’ mine from Woolworths. Its not a pre-order, they say - they have been allocated a certain amount and will stop taking orders when that allocated amount is reached. Guaranteed to get one on the day, apparently. Took card details but no charge until I pick it up. Bundle with Resistance: Fall of Man and Motorstorm for 494.98 seems quite reasonable (!) (ouch, though!). Boy, I hope their system is reliable!
Comment by Obli — Feb 12, 2007 @ 6:06 pm
Made the point cos Edge are supposed to be pro-Sony. The mag has become boring and a poop read lately
No mention of the online-mode in the review - do they actually play the games these days???
Comment by FU666AR — Feb 12, 2007 @ 6:11 pm
PS - was in Blockbuster and they said that however many pre-orders they take, Sony will supply that amount for launch
They were smug that they were the only place where that would happen
Comment by FU666AR — Feb 12, 2007 @ 6:28 pm
Toys’r'us are taking pre-orders now to those who signed up for updates.

Comment by Kaze — Feb 14, 2007 @ 9:36 pm
I just cancelled two pre-orders with argos, with a full refund, which i’ll replace with pre orders that don’t require the full amount upfront - just in case sony don’t generate a lot more demand for the ps3 than they can supply
when is the marketing push due?
Comment by FU666AR — Feb 15, 2007 @ 9:50 am
any idea when amazon are preordering… because nothing as yet on their site. I phoned them and they say anytime from now to 5 pm

I am very disoppinted with the news of phill harrison regarding ps3 PAL that the emotion chip will be removed from ps3.
As uk fans waited for ps3 for longer then us and japanises market and finaly when most uk ps3 fans booked their pre orders sony decided to take Emotion engine chip out of ps3. as how impartant is imotion chip is only games develpover can tell as i am game devoloper for last 10 years I know how impartant is imotaion chip is for ps3. only 1000 ps2 title will be compatible with ps3 rest ps2 title would not be compatible with ps3 all because of removing of emotion engine chip fromm ps3 most of my friends are taking teir money back the ps3 pre orders they booked. I say its time for uk fans to bycote ps3 and not to buy ps3 consule till sony treat as same as us and japanise market.
