  2. The downloadable content doesn’t work here.
I’ve installed the 100 kb (!?!?!?) patch I could download for free in the store. Is that ok? Only 100kb? Seems weird too me.

  4. ouweRammer - the content here isn’t what’s up for download now.

  5. Start Motorstorm first and go online and install the update before downloading the patch on PSN. If you have installed the patch first you can just remove it from the ‘Game category” in xmb.

  6. I like the ’80’s influence.. Mad Max, Back to the Future. I really hope the premium DLC doesn’t cost too much.. already hearing many gripes about it in the boards. It shouldn’t cost too much seeing as there’s going to be more than 1 of them and we’d love to keep playing the latest and greatest DLC. And we’re cheap.

  7. That time trial patch should be removed from the store until they find a way to clearly warn the user not to install it without updating Motorstorm first. It’s not even clear why it’s in the PSN when games can show in-game stores.

It’s not acceptable to expect people to read a section which normally contains verbose legalese or to know what version Motostorm is patched to first. The item needs to show a popup box that warns the user to run Motorstorm first to update BEFORE downloading and give instructions on what to do if it goes wrong.

Going forward, the PSN needs to have a way to interrogate what updates the user has and to not offer things they cannot use.

  9. “It’s not acceptable to expect people to read a section which normally contains verbose legalese”

I see I’m not the only one annoyed by that (not MotorStorm or PSN specific).
These compulsory legalese agreements you have to accept before downloading or whatever should be made illegal IMO, and the actual issues they’re made to skirt around, solved once and for all.

  10. “wreckreation” seems to be where most of the downloadable modes will be placed. love the time attack mode. and online seems to have finally been improved. thanks guys.

    now onto my rantings:

after watching the video hearing and hearing the comment at 0′16 where he basically said that the team had many ideas but didn’t manage to include them into the game due to time constraints. that made my blood boil and my anger for sony and evolutions studios rose up again!!!!

by making that comment, they have admitted to the fact that motorstorm was not completed. it was rushed and the game had an appalling number of modes. other modes that should could be considered as standards in a racing game were missing! lack of two player split screen???

i understand that developers have to meet publishing deadlines and what not…

now with the advent of the internet and the ability to download game patches direct from the PSN is a blessing. both for users and for developers.

for users: they can get more from their purchase of a COMPLETE GAME. extra life for a very good game with balanced features. example: oblivion and the expansion packs or ridge racer 7.

for developers: they can get more out of their consumers by selling EXTRA CONTENT for their games.

but making us pay for furture modes and future tracks for a game that is basically incomplete is just a great way of pissing of your customers and shooting yourself in the foot!

time attack mode is already free…which is good. but the other modes are not going to be free. developers said so themselves!

i love motorstorm. don’t get me wrong. but i hate the fact that the developers and the publishers are making us pay for features and other tracks and cars that should have been there in the first place.

way to go sony. way to go evolutioin studios. i still respect you guys, but the level its at right now keeps going down at a rate of one per stupid comment made.

  11. oh, forgot to mention this: 12 weeks to complete this downloadable pack?! right…and they couldn’t find 12 weeks during the development period?! that guy should be fired!

I understand where you’re coming from but remember that games are a business and game development is based on a project within a budget. The budget defines the number of folks you employ and for how long you have them for and at some point, you’ve got to ship.

I would have liked more game modes in Motorstorm, I would have liked more tracks but given the dirge of decent PS3 games, I wouldn’t have wanted to wait until next month to get it. I have sympathy with small, independent developers like Evolution (and Insomniac, Ninja Theory, Team Ninja etc), who are bucking the trend of PS3-bashing and jumping feet-first into PS3 development, leaping all the hurdles of learning a radically new console architecture and delivering a cracking game to what is going to be a very small audience and for not very much return.

  15. This has nothing to do with the interview here, but i just have to add that Blueray Disc is The future of Storage meduim, but the thing with the future….it takes time to get here, i cant wait to see the end of box set dvd’s, imagine being able to buy one disc which has all the episodes of say ‘firefly’ or ‘Lord of the rings trilogy’ with all the extra’s on one disc! -how sweet would that be, or Gran Turismo 5 with extra’s such as how did they manage to program all that visual accuracy in a game, or the making of the game but not the shortened crap we get from time to time, there are so many possibilities with blue ray disc, i sure developers or film studios are going to realise this at some point, like i say the future takes time to get here(or there!?)
