Here’s some new details from the Tokyo Game Show regarding Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, the showcase of what to expect with Gran Turismo 5, available via download on the PlayStation Network and on Blu-ray disc.
30 cars available to race with.
5 tracks – including London City Track and Suzuka. You’ll also be able to race the tracks in reverse, and with “alternate routes”.
16 player online multiplayer.
Photo Mode – take screenshots / pictures of in game experiences and save them to your PS3’s hard drive.
Gran Turismo TV – download / watch racing related videos through the PlayStation Network.
My Garage – a personalised feature, complete with your friends list, a chat functionality and game records.
We’ll bring you any more news on the upcoming addition to the GT series as soon as we get it.

Sounds good, can see why they’re charging for it now. The full game should be awesome.

Never been much for driving games of any kind, but I always somewhat had a weak spot for Gran Turismo from 3 onwards, regardless of the driving aspect the thought and realism (regardless crash damage) really stuck it with me.

Hmm, what is the point of Prologue, its like selling a car with no wheels. They cannot realistically charge more than 10 quid for this in my opinion, yeah its a big demo, but thats what it is, a DEMO. All this dripfeeding by Sony when will it end.

One thing i also heard was that they’ll be releasing a demo of prologue. Any news of that ?

I was weak and just bought a PS3 at ebay. Now I know what I’m waiting for.
@Xtc: A demo of prologue will come before the release. I have the date of 24th October in my memory.

Price is supposed to be about £35 for the BD version - not sure about the PSN version. I did hear that the BD version will feature damage, but the PSN version will not - have no idea if that’s true or not, though.

I think that shoild be consigned to the rumour bin. Can’t see Pol Dig making two versions of the same game.

PS3fanboy.com has confirmed that the price in YEN converted to US dollars is $38 for the PSN verison, and $43 for the Blu-ray version. According to PS3fanboy.com its the “Most expensive demo ever.” Im curious to see how it’ll be in the UK. Not only will we have to wait 5 months to get it, but I have a feeling we’ll pay double, approximately 40P for it.

GT4 Prologue was cheaper than usual wasn’t it? I’m just hoping that the online element works, 16 player racing will be excellent if they can get it right.
I’m not holding my breath for the Euro release date. Ideally it would be over here for Christmas, but maybe they want to avoid confusion with the final game (I’m imagining irate customers who purchase PS3 and game only to find it’s the ‘cut-down’ version) and will release it in a less high profile manner. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
