Oh dear, this update is terrible.
That Gundam must be the most cliched game ever in addition to be the worst game ever invented.
The pushing of Lair is getting tiresome now, we all know it’s not that good, quit releasing videos of cut scenes and wallpapers of dragons to convince us otherwise, it is really starting to smack of desperation.

@Si Doob; my school breaks up a weak before everyone else, and of course, I’m hear to complain about the lack of a Pro Evo demo. Does Konami just not care about PS3 owners (well… it does giving us MGS 4), I just don’t understand why the Xbox gets one and the PS3 doesn’t, there is no conceivable reason for why we are not getting it. Also, why no Ratchet and Clank demo, the US has got it (I’ve played it through twice and it’s the best game on PS3) but we haven’t

How about some games? Okay we got Everybodys golf 2 and Syphon filter 3 but thier ancient. Was hoping to see Pixel Junk Racers and all them other games that the us store have had for ages, at least the uncharted video will be worth a download.

Another poor week, another week I’ll no doubt be looking on the US site.
I am glad i did download the R&C demo last week cause its clearly not going to appear in europe any time soon.

Pretty disapointed(again) but finnaly we get some full games….. I brought everybodys golf
(after reading the original review on a web site) because iv had some money on my account for ages but am regretting it big time, this game is awful DO NOT BUY IT! i was expecting a fun and cute game just to waste a few hours away but all I got was a pixalated mess with the worst sound in a game since the spectrum, I played 14 holes of the first course and had to turn off because I had a head ache so bad. i wish I just got CTR

a bit sad this update, i have everybodys golf 1 on nice shiney black disc still, a great game, seriously thinking of getting 5 on Jap import.
DW:Gundam now this is a good demo, plenty of game play, lots of running around a-la hack’n’slash, a body count meter… shame i’ve had it since the start of September
i can recomend downloading it though.
the Racket and Clank future demo is totally amazing eyecandy, definately next gen visuals and.. oh hang on.. not in the europian store yet… -haha- why do SCEE keep on shafting us in an uncomfortable place, and i’m not talking the back of a volkswagen!
seriously expected pixal junk racers, even though it sucks! and go ski this week. jeez we are soo falling behind all the other stores its not funny anymore.
how about starting some firmware 2.0 rumours?

@15 you also forgot the animated storyboard for the making of the Lair wallpapers video, with voice over by Jack Tretton explaining why the next episode will have to be paid for, but unfortunately delayed until the first financial quarter of 2008 due to the artists moving from an HB to 2H pencil and needing time to get adjusted to the new operating system… apparently.

Lair available in the us since more than a month for 54 $ = 38 € instead of 64€ almost double the price for a 3 month delayed game..
I,representing the EU Customers,whom payed 599€ for a console without 1 game,without 1 controller and only a free BR-movie of Casino Royale), DEMAND an answer for all Delayed promisses:

@28 what the f,do we can we use a tekken 5 dr online trailer,since this game + update is out in the other regions for ages…
i want to spend my money on the PSN network,since there are hardy enough good games on disc anyway to spend my money on.
unfortunatly you have to live in the US to get the games first,
or get all the demos first
weird enough that on with both last gens consoles
Xbox 1.5 (or 360 as some call it) they don’t have any problems releasing more than once a week,
or at the same time worldwide
or nintendo’s wiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, which even got a VC,releasing almost 2 games per week
than the best console of all ,the PS3,as we al see fit, is runnimg far,far,far,far behind even,the PS2 is catching up for online support

Also, why do we not have a Conan demo? The game is out over here and yet we have no demo, whereas America do not get the game until the end of this month, but they still have a demo, that does not make any sense!

This is the price we pay for living in Europe. You can’t blame Sony for concentrating on the two largest and easiest markets. It’s more frustrating for people in the UK because we share a common language to the US but we are a separate small country with different laws. IF all European countries had the same language and IF they had the same laws and regulators then in all likelihood we would get the stuff first.
However Sony take a leaf out of MS and book and try to micro manage Europe (you’re doing it with th PVR) publish where you can as quickly as you can, don’t wait for all the separate regulators to get back to you with approval so you can release in one go, give people in non English speaking countries at least the opportunity to download an English speaking demo if they want.
BTW what happened to podcast, appreciate the first one was like a slow train crash. Try and find some adults (in attitude at least) to do it.

One thing I’ve always wondered, I’m a Canadian living in Belgium with a perfect understanding of English, my Playstation 3’s language is set to English, I play my games with English text/voices if allowed to select it… Yet I have to deal with downloading very very poor french-dubbed videos from the Playstation Store because the locale is “Belgium-french”… I just can’t stand “Heavenly Sword” being pronounced like a butchered “Hévanlie-SwWueeEeurde” in the cartoons, I want to be able to pick the ORIGINAL ENGLISH version, but the store seems to think it’s best for my health that I don’t get a choice and get the crap french version… at least if it was original+sub and not DUBBED… just give me the Belgian content, I’m ok with that, I’m ok with waiting, but let me have it in ENGLISH, PLEASE, for the love of God…
… Is this possible?

Localisation sucks big time if you can’t choose it. Seriously, I am glad that you at least have choice for English in Heavenly Sword, because the Dutch dubbing is done by the voices that do SpongeBob Squarepants. It is hard to take Master Shen serious when you hear him with the voice of Mr. Crabs.
Oh and the reason why I don’t have a bogus US acount to get the US demo’s is simple: It is not allowed under the EULA, and I’m not risking a PS3 ban for that (I’m telling you, one of these days Sony is going to crack down on that).

Have another look at the original post. Some of the items are only available for some of the EU countries / languages. This proves that “Europe” is not the real reason these demos/games/items are delayed - items can be released on the EU store to specific countries or languages, so we can stop blaming the fact that we live in Europe for the delays.
The latest Insomniac Games podcast explains that they had no idea that the R&C demo was not going to appear on the EU store on the date it was supposed to, so it’s nothing to do with the developers.
I expect it’s down to the publishers as to whether they want to release a demo or not. For example, if demo “X” doesn not go down well in one territory, the publisher may decide not to release it elsewhere in case it harmed game sales… (I’m just guessing).
As to why the R&C demo isn’t here, only SCEE can answer that question. Perhaps they want to release it closer to the EU games release date (9th November accoridng to Play.com)?
Remember people, demos are not a right. They are simply another form of marketing…

I appreciate that some of the content is restricted, Germany is always a problem for publishers. The chances are that those countries that don’t get now though wont get it at all because of either translation or copyright/distribution rights for a particular territory. But I suspect that items are normally delayed because SCEE are waiting for all legal/translation issues to be sorted out before they release rather than getting out as and when they can to each country. Whilst this may cause problems in distribution it’s net effect in good will would far out way it.

I’m starting to get a real bout of pessimism on this now. What will it take to get some action on this?
We could boycott buying anything on PSN but considering there is nothing worth buying recently I’m not sure this will be noticed.
We could all not log in for a week? Would hamper your online play and that means no Warhawk.
Flood the helpdesk at SCEE with emails? Get banned for spamming.
The only thing I can think of is the next showing of EU PSN at a games conference open to the public should get hit. Custard pies, everyone leaves, heckle to hell, everyone turn their back. Something so that when the Sony exec gets dissed by the crowd and gets PUBLICLY embarrassed that someone will take notice.
We could also petition the games sites to highlight the US/EU gap as much as possible. I don’t want this but what else can we do? The way to get these people to take notice is expose them in public.
Sorry its the pessimism thats talking but I’ve got a girlfriend asking me what I want for Xmas and I’m tempted to say a 360 and Ebay the PS3.

I know where your coming from mate, Sony are one big let down the only things i have been excited about for the PS3 this year where home and UT3 which have both been put back to next year and as for the store i wanted Super puzzle Fighter HD which is America only for some very stupid reason and tekken online havnt got a clue what they are doing with this. But the point im getting to is yeah it will be more fun to own a xbox this christmas and maybe till febuary but after that when this stuff gets released you will be kicking your self big time that you got rid of this black box.
im just trying to make rainbow last me as long as possible im 1850 in the world on TS and have been rising 50-100 places everyday so if my clculations are right I should be in the top 10 by christmas loooooooool well im hoping hahahahaha
