Gamespot should get their head out of Bill Gates Arse.
This game is brilliant and looks fantastic, this is on my to buy list for sure.
Gamespot, shame on you….

Stop teasing… all this talk of how great it is and I’ve got to wait another couple of weeks to get my mitts on it. Glad I’ve got it pre-ordered.
Comment by Dan (PSN - Detale) — Oct 24, 2007 @ 12:13 pm
Ah but the big question is….. Will we actually get the demo this week so we can check it out for ourselves? Seriously looking forward to this game…..

Words cannot tell how much i want this game - so i shall give you an ascii kirby instead -
Comment by JohnSketch — Oct 24, 2007 @ 12:19 pm
awww my ascii kirby!
Comment by JohnSketch — Oct 24, 2007 @ 12:20 pm
Si, isn’t the demo is on the PSN? It’s quite good.
Comment by LordOfRuin — Oct 24, 2007 @ 12:21 pm
The demo is available on the US store, but not the UK, I think. I don’t check our store very often any more, so can’t tell. Remember, many people here don’t see why they should have to make up a US store account - for me, this one demo would be reason enough though! And as everyone except gamespot says, it definitely looks like a must have.

Gamespot wouldn’t know a good game if it kicked them in the nuts…. This should be on everyone’s list
Comment by DaveTheRave — Oct 24, 2007 @ 1:03 pm
The gamespot reviewer is known as a 360 fanboy, i don’t know why they let him review a ps3 game. Not all GS reviews are bad Jeff is the best reviewer on there and seems to keep an unbiased.:)
Comment by Rizza — Oct 24, 2007 @ 1:33 pm
sweet! cant wait for this one! the demo was excellent
Comment by Paul — Oct 24, 2007 @ 1:36 pm
Gamespot have really gone downhill in recent years and are clearly biased towards MS. If a game is multiplatorm you can garuntee that they push the 360 version and almost make it look like a PS3 version dosent exsit. Most people who own a PS3 will probably get this anyway but it dosen’t help the causal gaming public who may look at this site as a guide to the game.
Gamespot giving this a 7.5 for been cheesy and not been too difficult is an insult to the game, if you read the review he seems to get lost half way through and starts making stuff up, jumbled messages and a rubbish score at the end, sack him and do us a favor.
Comment by Nathaniel — Oct 24, 2007 @ 1:59 pm
good news then. This one’s definitely on my must-have list.
Comment by reakt — Oct 24, 2007 @ 2:29 pm
JohnSketch - what’s an ascii kirby? Whatever it was, I guess it was deemed to offensive

I consider games that average 8 out of 10 or better to be worth thinking of buying, anything less and you may find a gem, but you’re playing with fire.
So while having lunch I have been looking at Metacritic.com and pulled up the following stats…
PS3 :
Games that got 8+ out of 10 : 31/90 (1 year period) ~34%
Highest Score : 93 The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Lowest Score : 34 Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire
XBox 360 :
Games that got 8+ out of 10 : 73/278 (2 year period) ~26%
Highest Score : 96 The Orange Box
Lowest Score : 34 Bomberman: Act Zero
Wii :
Games that got 8+ out of 10 : 9/96 (1 year period) ~10%
Highest Score : 95 for Zelda
Lowest Score : 26 for Chicken Shoot
It will be interesting to revisit these stats a year from now to see if everyone’s average of well received games has gone up or down.
Note : this list includes XBLA, PSN and Virtual Wii ( or whatever it’s called ) games as well.
Make of these numbers what you will.
Comment by Savage — Oct 24, 2007 @ 3:03 pm
yeah, gamespot totally embarrassed themselves. I lost a ton of respect for them with that review. Especially about the whole, “there are too many different minigames and controls”…. lame.
BTW, great stats Savage. Really shows there are a lot of good games out for the PS3, unlike what the media likes to say.
Comment by ajefferism — Oct 24, 2007 @ 3:23 pm
I have deleted gamespot from my bookmarks, they are no longer to be trusted. They are not receiving any more hits from me. Its outdated anyway and their review is biased. It is out of sync with everyone else who is rating this title around 90.
Even the notorious Edge mag gave it an 8 and they are well harsh!
Comment by sgoat — Oct 24, 2007 @ 4:07 pm
@13
off topic - ascii art is creating images using the symbols available to you within ascii tables (keyboard symbols pretty much) - seems more than two ascii symbols without any main letters or numbers isn’t loved by the threespeech comment system
on-topic - *drools at RaCF:ToD*

Ok, so according to my calculations I should be able to play Ratchet and Clank with Rumble support using my white dualshock3 controller on November the 15th if both movietyme.com and yesasia.com comes through for me

Kudos to Insomniac Games for producing two top quality PS3 games. Bravo. Not bad for a years work. Keep them coming!
Comment by BlueGene — Oct 24, 2007 @ 4:31 pm
gamespot are biased 360 fanboys!
shame on them.
Comment by Ricky — Oct 24, 2007 @ 5:23 pm
How come you didn’t post Gamespot’s score? Just cause the reviewer slagged the game unreasonably, doesn’t mean you should leave them out. (sarcasm)

Shame the relase is so badly delayed in Europe. -(
Comment by Mark — Oct 24, 2007 @ 6:13 pm
Already on its way from VG+.
Greg Kasavin was the greatest asset Gamespot had before he left.
Comment by Shin-Ra — Oct 24, 2007 @ 7:34 pm
With those talking about Gamespot going downhill I totally agree, recently they did a feature coocmparing the 360 graphics to those on the PS3… totally pointless and yes, the 360 “won”. I don’t actually think there is a single multiplatform site now that isn’t biased in some way - shame. Still, for anyone in any doubt mosy onto the US store and get the demo - it will not disappoint.
Comment by Terry — Oct 24, 2007 @ 7:47 pm
In the swedish game´s magazine Superplay (multi-format ) Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction got a nice 10 / 10.
Comment by GeordieNinja — Oct 25, 2007 @ 7:43 am
9/10 across the board??
What about Eurogamer? they’re one of the most popular online games portals and they gave it 7/10 and said it was too easy!?!?!?!?
Comment by Greenman — Oct 25, 2007 @ 8:16 am
I played the demo from the US store and wasnt that impressed. Maybe its just that Im not really into “on-rails” platform shooters anymore. And never playing any of the previous games doesnt help me.
Im sure its an ace game but I think i’ll give it a miss. I seriously have to choose my purchases carefully…not because of money…because of time constraints! lol
Comment by elephant.stone — Oct 25, 2007 @ 8:46 am
I think it would be best to rent it, iv heard its far too easy from a number of places and if you finish it within a couple of days with there being no online play I cant see there being much replay value. I for one will not be spending 50 quid on it.
Comment by BENNE77 — Oct 25, 2007 @ 9:41 am
@BENNE77
Fella, if you are spending £50 on PS3 games you have my sympathy!
Comment by mrsatansdojo — Oct 25, 2007 @ 10:07 am
Incidentally, the PS2 averages about 21% for it’s 7 year lifespan for games that scored 8 or higher and it’s shipped 1488 according to Metacritic.com, non of which are downloadable if I’m not mistaken.
Comment by Savage — Oct 25, 2007 @ 10:49 am
I was Shocked when I Saw Gamespots 7.5 for this game.
In Fairness I held my comments back and went to buy the game. NOW , Having played throught the first couple of hours I feel sorry for Gamespot ……..
If they understand the true Worth of this game , then they are Bias . If they Don’t then they are simply Lacking .
Either way they Look Foolish.

Got this game last night. Better than I thought. This game is an impressive showpiece for the PS3.
