Famitsu, the giant Japanese gaming magazine, has an interview with the Monster Hunter 3 team in it’s latest issue. In case you missed the news, Capcom title Monster Hunter 3 was recently cancelled for the Playstation 3 and here’s what the team had to say to disappointed PS3 owners.
According to IGN’s translation, they issued a “big apology” to Playstation fans who were disappointed with the cancellation. “Famitsu pointed out that some people may have purchased a PS3 once Monster Hunter 3 was announced last year. This drew a big apology from the Capcom reps, who said that PS3 owners should wait for further announcements in the series.”
Whether this means a later game in the series will make it onto PS3 we don’t know, but at least there’s a sign of hope.

MH3 is not the only title that Sony has ‘lost’ to other platforms. Also, it should be considered that there’s a great amount of games coming out for the X360 that have NOT EVEN been considered for Sony’s platforms - let’s not forget there are three of them, after all.
There’s a real danger here of this not just becoming a trend but also reaching a high level of alienation of loyal PlayStation fans that cannot be reversed, once it reaches a certain line.
A point of no return (ie. buying another platform instead of Sony’s - as I’m considering to do) has not been reached yet, but it seems unavoidable and inevitable for some fans now.

Whats the betting they bang out another PSP version toute-suite?

Forget about MH3. How about working on Lost Planet PS3 so that it doesn’t look like a PS2 game?
The first screenshots and side-to-side comparisons with the 360 version are downright appalling (especially when you’ve already played - as I did - said 360 version): horrible models and textures, painful aliasing…
LP will end up being yet another half-assed port that’ll do nothing but hurt the console’s image.
Luckily, there are gems like Ratchet or Uncharted to showcase the PS3’s *real* potential.
Kudos and respect to Insomniac, Naughty Dog and a few others for their professionalism and dedication.

I always loved Capcom. in fact, Capcom was the best company in the gaming ind. however, they way they are doing buss. right now is fair at all. therefore, I will never buy any Capcom game unless they start showing fairness.

Capcom already has another PSP game in the works. Expansion or something. Monster Hunter 2G or something like that.
You can’t really blame them, though, it’s Sony’s fault. They should realize how big a name MH is, especially in Japan, and taken steps to ensure it’s at least on the PS3. Let the Wii have it too, but it being exclusive really hurts.
