It would seem Assassin’s creed is scoring very well indeed.
Game Informer 9.5 out of 10
Game Tailers 9.1 out of 10
1 UP (Editor) 7 out of 10 (Avg Score (at Time Of Post)) 8.8
Game Reactor 9/10
Famitsu 37/40
Check out these excellent screens from the PS3 build here.
It’s looking good people.

1UP’s reviewer gave it 7.0

Nothing wrong with smoking medieval assassinated weed from the time of the crusades.
I want this game…but can’t afford to shell out for all the November AAA titles…
Bring on the Bankruptcy!

Apart from the abysmal AI (check Gametrailers’ video review to see it in action…), the game looks fantastic. I preordered it a week ago, and all those great reviews are telling me I’m not going to regret it.

lol me too, i bet they are gonna score PS3 verison a few points lower than other versions…
Those PS3 build screens looks awesome, they look really good indeed, the best from what i have seen from this game.

The one review I’m most waiting for is Yahtzee’s (for those who don’t know him: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/zeropunctuation). I predict he’ll have a field day…
Comment by hana_fubuki — Nov 13, 2007 @ 11:29 am
With their 7/10 1-up is doing just what gamespot did with their ratchet review- they go completely against mass consensus deliberately to generate page hits for the dated and fading web sites through false controversy. Losers! Im deleting 1-up from my bookmarks, not that I used them very much as they truly have the worst designed site on the entire internet anyhow.

The orange box review is superb
Comment by mrsatansdojo — Nov 13, 2007 @ 11:49 am
@11 - Yes, it is. The only “problem” with Yahtzee is that people sometimes take him waaaay to seriously.
When he “dared” review Halo and Zelda, the fanboys’ reactions were as hilarious as the reviews.
I loved BioShock and Heavenly Sword, I plan to pick up the Orange Box some time after the holidays, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying his reviews of those games.
Back to Assassin’s Creed, just a word of warning to you all: there are (as usual) people who get a kick out of ruining the game for others, by exposing the big “plot twist” Ubisoft has been talking about.
Be careful when reading user comments.

At least you can finish at 3pm (ish)!
Spare a thought for us (hard) working saddos in meaningful employment. Not only do I have to use our borked railway service everyday, but since I decided to buy a house with the missus, putting up shelves & other assorted manly acts of DIY take precedent over gaming!
Boo for me
The moral of this story is: stay up late playing games every night of the week without your parents knowing!
Comment by mrsatansdojo — Nov 13, 2007 @ 12:26 pm
This game from those PS3 shots, does look really good.
There are two things I am really cheesed off with though, one is the severe lack of AI in this game if the Gametrailer review was anything to go by, and the other is the fighting, which just looks awful, as you fight one on one, while there are 10 guys all standing around doing nothing???
Also, some of the guards just stand around while you murder his comrade in plain sight, and only when he drops to the floor does he come over and say, “Who did this?” while you are the only person standing within 20 feet.
It beggars belief and really does make a mockery of the game, which was looking promising for GOTY until I saw how bad the AI was.
Ubisoft don’t deserve scores in the 9 range in my books, and I would give it an 8/10 based on really bad AI, and very poor fighting, which to be honest, after the effort they have put into this game, shouldn’t have been an issue for them.
Ubisoft, if you had only made the AI work properly, this game would have been clearly a 9.0 - 9.5 out of 10 based on the Graphics and Sound and the vast Scenery. It’s by no means a 10, but then neither is Mario or Halo 3, because they are the same old game, but AC was something new and you screwed up with the AI and fighting.
All this is based just on the trailer from Gametrailers review, but if that is the final build, then my reasoning still stands.
Reviewers are trying to out do each other, without really thinking what they are reviewing. How can games have 9.5’s if they are seriously flawed in the AI and fighting execution??

I leave my house at 7.15am, get back about 7.30pm!! That’s if the trains run on time, which they don’t.
come on peeps, someone must work a 15 hour shift in a meat factory and have it worse than me & good ol’ JS!!
Oh, Assassin’s Creed right! I’ve always wondered whether you could freerun over peasants’ heads? threespeech?

Thank you! Finally, someone who agrees with me! The game looks fantastic but the AI at the time of that particular build was laughable at best.

my only worry is that it may be a repetitive experiance but it definatly looks awsome.

@ mrsatansdojo and JohnSketch:
I work from home sometimes, so I can’t help either of you there with the sad stories of working hard for a living and taking trains everyday…Sorry.
As for this game, well, I don’t know. There’s been so much hype about it, I’m not certain what novel game play it offers.
I don’t own a PS3, so I guess future posts on here and elsewhere will tell me how other gamers are finding it.
I have noticed one thing though: Lately, it seems all that’s improving with games is their story lines and plot but not much else.
Comment by Zed Zee — Nov 13, 2007 @ 4:04 pm
If they threw in a Jade Raymond with each copy of AC, I’d give it a 10/10.
Comment by Savage — Nov 13, 2007 @ 4:17 pm
I cancelled my Pre-order for this last week. But only because of the insane hype and total lack of PS3 exposure, every time a screen was seen or the game was pre-tested, it was the 360 version. I smelt a rat BUT can’t wait to be proven wrong. This game will go on my Crimbo List If the reviewers I trust give us the nod.
Work, Limited Internet but 8am - 6pm isn’t too bad ( inc travelling )

Comment by pip — Nov 13, 2007 @ 5:36 pm
LOLZ now gamespot are saying that the PS3 version has a better framerate than the 360 and give it 9….IGN are saying that the PS3 framerate is worse than the 360???? these reviews just cant be trusted anymore im confused!!!! and i had fallen out with gamespot after its ratchet and clank review! now they come to the rescue…..
Comment by cg — Nov 13, 2007 @ 9:49 pm
People who don’t know what review or journalists to trust, should just rent out the game for a few days and see if they like it enough to buy.
I don’t think demos are much to go by? I don’t know, perhaps those who have demos and have then bought the real deal can comment on whether demos give you the same ‘look n feel’ as the full game.
But I would say, if in doubt, don’t buy it. However, if you’re a fan of the genre/game history/have been waiting for ages for it, then rent it out and see what it’s like first.
A perfect example of this is PES2008. MCV and others are reporting that the PS3 version is more buggy than a dune buggy!
