With firmware 2.0 allowing PS3 users to make their own XMB theme it was only a matter of time before a site dedicated to PS3 themes was launched.
PlayStation3themes.com boast that they have gained a 1000 members in 5 hours!
Check the site out for yourself.

Er, who is running this? Sites like this have been set up before, and spam immediately follows registration.
Hopefully these guys are good, honest PS3 owners looking to share this stuff.

Tsk, making people register to download themes that are readily available and they have themselves have downloaded via forums…
You want quality themes, without registration, then check this out:

Loving the icons for the half life theme.
Think the background is a bit naff though.

Sony should make it easier to install themes, like the ability to download and install them directly from the PS3 browser.

I don’t mind the odd advert here and there as long as they are static, but I really hate the constant adverising that goes on on most websites these day.
That Theme site showed promise, but I can’t blink without having some advert red hot pokered into my eyes.
PS. I’ve got a sore tooth.

yep sorted it the email ended up in my spam folder. Wasnt worth it anyway they arnt realy that great, you are probably better off just going to interfacelift and downloaded a wicked HD pic and using the default icons.

@Martin Hansen - Not sure if you realized, but by the sound of it you haven’t, you can already install them directly from the PS3 browser. As long as the download method is normal the PS3 picks up it’s a theme file and installs it for you.

@7 - thanks for posting the link to the neogaf theme thread. They’ve got game industry graphics artists active on there so hopefully we’ll see more and more great themes!

Hi guys,
i am the webmaster of http://www.playstation3themes.com/ and I just found out about this post, I’m really proud right now that Three Speech recommends my site!
About your concerns…
1. I am a PS3 fan and I will do whatever I can to support the community, and nothing to screw you guys. I have been running PS3 sites since the day the PS3 launched in Europe. (www.gam3r.net for portuguese PS3 owners)
2. The site requires registration because a few hours after the launch it went down because of hundreds of people browsing the themes. Now it’s stable, and has over 5000 members.
3. I wont SPAM anyone who registers, and theres no agressive ads in the site, only google ads that dont hurt your eyes.
I will add more themes as soon as I can find the time, this whole thing grew a too fast and I’m trying to keep up with it.
I hope you can enjoy the site and stop being so negative about it, I am getting a lot positive emails and people submitting great themes, and this is just the first couple of days!
