The Resident Evil: Extinction Blu-ray disc, released on 2nd January in the US, will contain demo versions of Resident Evil 5 and Devil May Cry 4. Also featured are plenty of Profile 1.1 features including picture in picture commentary, and Blu-Wizard 2.0 which enhances interactive menu features such as organisation.
Tech specs for the disc are the usual 1080p AVC-MPEG4 video transfer as well as an uncompressed 5.1 audio track. Extinction will also be released as part of a trilogy set including the original first Resident Evil film on the same date.
No word on a UK release date yet – we’ll keep you posted.

Comment by Pocoyo — Nov 16, 2007 @ 5:07 pm
Are they videos or actual playables for PS3 BD players?
Comment by Youlikeyams — Nov 16, 2007 @ 5:16 pm
Additional supplements shared with the standard-def DVD version of the film (which is debuting day-and-date with the Blu-ray) include an audio commentary with director Paul W.S. Anderson and producer Jeremy Bolt, four making-of featurettes, eleven deleted scenes, and two video game demos (for “Devil May Cry 4″ and “Resident Evil 5″).
they cant be playable demos as the dvd version has them ps3 cant play any game/demo from a dvd.
Comment by Pocoyo — Nov 16, 2007 @ 5:43 pm

“UPDATE 11/16/07, 1:15pm: We’ve just received word from Capcom Entertainment that the ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’ Blu-ray will *not* include actual playable demos for “Devil May Cry 4″ and “Resident Evil 5.” Instead, the disc will include high-def trailers for both of those games.”
Follow the link [HighDefDigest]. No demo.

A lesson learned then, if a little late. Don’t believe everything you read on Threespeech - they frequently misrepresent information in their ‘news’ stories.
The demos are not playable, they’re just movies. They’re the same movies you’ve already seen on PSN and/or Xbox Marketplace. Capcom have also said that the European release will not necessarily contain these movies.
Comment by Mothra — Nov 17, 2007 @ 11:41 am
The press release said “video game demos” - it seems there is a mis-communication between Sony Pictures and Capcom.
Just as an update, Capcom told Eurogamer that they were thinking of putting “something” on the Euro version of the disc.
