Looks good, the problem with the interface on the PS3 PSN is that its not suitable for use with a controller. The PSN would be better managed as an extension to the XMB, have it idnetical i nstructure to where the files would be saved, i.e music, video & games etc and let us copt down what we want… although I guess with Home out there “somewhere” its not feasible now. Having to drag a mouse cursor is going out of fashion lol.

yippee another place to buy crap content from lol

You say it’s for PC, what about us Mac users? Can the content be copied from the Mac to the PSP using PSPWare for example (http://www.nullriver.com/) or can the content be downloaded on the PS3 browser and copied to either a PSP memory card or straight to a PSP connected via USB?

Hey great news! But a little too late for me.
My 60 GB ( Like hens teeth they are if anyone is looking for one, took me 3 hours to track down this one ) PS3 arrives on Friday so I’ll be able get to the store via that.

@Terry - XMB store is a great idea - it’s just so slow and clunky on PS3, hardly next gen.
I want to login to a website with my PS3 account to see my buddy list, whos online, chat etc. as I usually have a laptop powered up while the missus is using the TV over the PS3..

“You can even manage your PLAYSTATION Network account via your PC – topping up the funds in your wallet, editing your personal profile or MANAGING YOUR FRIEND LIST.”
I certainly can’t see how to do that last one - there are no liks to do with friends lists, and it isn’t in Account Management.
That would be a really cool feature of the store…
But thanks for the update, unfortunately a day after the site launched, but better late than never!

“liks” = “links”, natch.

@7
Altho the 360 is different they integrate their store into their dashboard, makes it a lot easier & maintains familliarity, I think sony should have thought about this even if it has been a temporary thing while home decides to show its face. One annoying thing of the existing setup is that there are key areas that can ony be clicked, say for example you’re on the edge of a button, clicking once will centre the cursor, the second will activate the link. Anyhoooo nay mind…

*Ducktapes the local Co-op to his Playstation*
Got my own playstation store thank you very much!

This is a nice step forward, with the same account accessible on both PS3 and PC, and appears to be an improvement over the old PSP store (I did wonder why they stopped updating it)
Personally I’d like to see ALL available content (both PSP and PS3) on both the PC store and the PS3 store and be able to download for the PSP on both. It would also be nice to trigger downloads for the PS3 by the PC store - so that when I next turn on my PS3 the downloads start, well downloading automatically.
One small annoyance abouts Beats though - it doesn’t play mp4 files (even though the XMB does). I need to recode all my music as mp3 to play it in the game.

I just signed up. It’s shit.
Currently we have a website that works on all platforms (I update my PSP in Linux, site uses Java <3)
The replacement is uglier, more awkward to use, and now wont let me update on my platform due to some lame application that’s “required” . What arse >.<
Keep the current PSP download platform, *please*.

@7: Remote Play, my friend.
Comment by Youlikeyams — Nov 21, 2007 @ 3:33 pm
The site is superb but the stupid thing doesn’t want to accept my card and it doesn’t state why. If Sony want people to buy things then they should let them actually use their cards.
Comment by Benny — Nov 21, 2007 @ 3:51 pm
Sony just got €4,99 from me for MediEvil.^^
WipeOut or Crash Bandicoot will be next.
Comment by Andreas — Nov 21, 2007 @ 4:07 pm
Don’t do it!!!
I relented and bought the online update for Tekken.
I think I’ve managed to have 3 fights in total since it came out.
Between network errors or people just kicking you from the game for no apparent reason I am on the verge of phoning the Sony helpline to get my money back.

Comment by Darkie — Nov 21, 2007 @ 6:38 pm
What the hell is up with this application? Why not just download the content like it’s done EVERYWHERE ELSE ON THE INTERNET? The crap doesn’t work from Linux! THINK Sony, PLEASE!
