Hi,
I think that we got a good PSN Store update this week. Thank you Sony.
I really like the Uncharted demo. This is definitely a game I will get when it will be released in Europe.
However, there might be an issue for regarding this demo: a friend of mine bought is PS3 in the US and tried to download the demo from the European PSN Store… he got a blank screen when he launched it.
-> is the the European demo region locked?
-> did Naughtly Dog do the same mistake with the European version?

Thought updates were written about and released on a Thursday
G-Police - now THAT! brings back good memories…just a damn shame they never made the 3rd one as the sequel left itself too open.
Comment by JohnSketch — Nov 23, 2007 @ 10:27 am
Great update this week. Just one question. Will they release all those ps1 games that were promised for november next week, or has it been scrapped?
Comment by BabyBlue — Nov 23, 2007 @ 10:27 am
Good update, and @1 what do you expect to get every week exactly? 8 demos and 3-4 full games every week? What sony is releasing over the next few months on the PSN is quite a decent line-up in my opinion.
Comment by bmaindj — Nov 23, 2007 @ 10:30 am
Trailers, Trailers, Trailers what use are trailers?
We can see these online.
And G-Police I think I had this at one time in my life and all i can remember is that it was just an average title, come on Sony there are hundreds more PSone titles id rather have than this.
And my final thought on the store, Would it be so hard to release Super Puzzle Fighter to us? I downloaded the demo off the US store and its just as excelent as I remembered it.
PULL YOUR FINGERS OUT!!!
Comment by BENNE77 — Nov 23, 2007 @ 10:40 am
Is it true that Primal is going to be available from PSN!?! I REALLY hope so!
It’s listed amongst the titles in the download description, of the PSN Showcase trailer.
Just also wanted to express my appreciation to the team that’s been producing and offering regular DLC for Folklore. It’s fantastic value because some of the additional quests have had tiered goals, so that even if you finish the challenge, you may find you’ve yet to earn the best award. There’s a good deal of additional gameplay for that £1.49 a pop, along with the prizes (folks ‘n’ cloaks!)
Comment by GleeDemon — Nov 23, 2007 @ 10:48 am
Good update, thanks Sony.
Comment by rooee — Nov 23, 2007 @ 10:52 am
Would be nice with more ps1 games why don’t they just throw them out on the psn store. it’s a win win situation the ps3 owners gets happy and sony makes money.
Comment by tEvEy — Nov 23, 2007 @ 10:57 am
Looking forward to next week and hopefully the fl0w expansion pack and GHIII downloads…
Comment by Tony Nibbles — Nov 23, 2007 @ 11:08 am
meh G-police is the only good thing.
Comment by Carl — Nov 23, 2007 @ 11:14 am
some people are never happy! shouldnt you be playing Assassins Creed, COD4, Ratchet n clanck instead of giving out about updates..jeez
Comment by Paul — Nov 23, 2007 @ 11:16 am
@11 - totally agree
Comment by rooee — Nov 23, 2007 @ 11:29 am
What the hell happened to all the games that were promised for November? Anyone remember that list?
And why are Sony now releasing the PC store to make the list look substantial?
And why is so much content from the PC store not available on the PSN store?
The co-ordination between sony’s different arms is shocking.
Comment by russ — Nov 23, 2007 @ 11:36 am
I think people need to stop whining and moaning its all free anyway,I think sony are doing agood job,Had a PS3 from launch and have never looked back!
Comment by andy — Nov 23, 2007 @ 11:40 am
@15
I agree, its bad enough the regional stores are out of sync, to have multiple stores within a region not matching up is not very good. Wipeout HD is slated for a 2007 release can someone please elaborate on this? Also, Assassins Creed is still crashing even after I put 2.01 up. This is annoying is anyone else getting this? Its the only game i’ve had crash and its done it 5 times since I bought it Saturday…
Comment by Terry — Nov 23, 2007 @ 11:50 am

Comment by Carl — Nov 23, 2007 @ 12:00 pm
decent update, cheers guys
Comment by Tel Hel — Nov 23, 2007 @ 12:18 pm
One of the ones that should be added is Mechwarrior 2. Another’s Forsaken. Also Soul Blade, and Pandemonium.
I wish I knew what Primal was doing being mentioned on that trailer’s description…Threespeech, can you investigate, please?
Comment by GleeDemon — Nov 23, 2007 @ 12:47 pm
@20
I remember Pandemonium. Loved it so much I bought Pandemonium 2. Still have the ps1 discs. Wish they would do like Nintendo and have a few weeks that focused on games that had not been released in Europe before, like Einhänder.
Comment by BabyBlue — Nov 23, 2007 @ 12:50 pm
wow. I’ve just been to the PC PSN. What a confusing mess Sony are making of the online store.
We all know about the annoyance among fans caused by so many games being released in the US, but not the EU. Then, Sony promised a ton of games for the EU in November that just aren’t materialising.
But now, with the PC store, things get really odd…
There is a PS3 store, a PC store, and a PSP store, each accessable from it’s corresponding device.. All three are different, and contain different content, but then each contains content that can or can’t be used on another device.
For instance -
Go! Puzzle can be bought from the PC store and the PS3 store, but not the PSP store. It can be played on the PSP and PS3 if you buy it from the PC store, but can only be played on PS3 if you buy it from the PS3 store.
Beats, B-Boy and Go! Soduko are for the PSP, but can only be bought from the PC store. Soduko is already on the PS3 store, but it’s only compatible with the ps3. The PSP version is only on the PC store.
You can access your download history on PS3 from the PC store, but you can’t access them, or trigger them remotely for download on your PS3.
Why is there no consistency between these different services? What the hell is going on? Where is Home? Where is a stable online service? Why are Sony wasting there time on freeview silliness when they should be fixing up the basics?
Potentially (there’s that word again) this is all very clever, but at the moment PS online is barely functional, and doesn’t make a damn bit of sense.
Sony, sort it out -
There’s no point running before you can walk.

Wow! More complaints even though we get the Uncharted demo…
Anyway onto other matters, Three Speech can you confirm that we are getting the Shivering Isles expansion for Oblivion on the PSN sometime soon?
Thanks
Comment by Dave Vincent — Nov 23, 2007 @ 1:07 pm
@15,17
The PC store is mainly intended for PSP owners who don’t have a PS3, so why would you expect it to have the same content as the store on the PS3 ?

@ All - Will do my best on the questions chaps.
Comment by Three Speech — Nov 23, 2007 @ 1:26 pm
@23: I think that would be kinda hard for 3speech to confirm considering that Bethesda has kinda confirmed the opposite, that it will not be available on the European PSN store ’soon’. In general I think that as soon as a date is confirmed for Europe you will get news on it on the Bethesda blog first.
@all: I think the complaints about the store are getting a bit lame. This week there was a good selection of new content on the store. The old ‘why do Europe get shafted’ story is also not necessarily correct as it turns out we are getting some stuff before the US. The EyeToy games and Motorstorm expansions for instance. And Singstar is getting a European release first also.
Just so its said I don’t think things are ‘perfect’, would be great if Sony allowed non-us credit cards on the US store so we could import games if we don’t care about translations and local ratings for instance. But the current situation, where we get pretty sizeable updates almost every week, is not so bad that it defends a weekly rant on the 3speech comment section.
Comment by Christian — Nov 23, 2007 @ 1:48 pm
@28
The majority of ps3 owners seem to want a unified store. Whether the EU gets content BEFORE the US is not really the issue. The majority just don’t want to hear of things they can’t play.
Oh, and IN GAME XMB!
Comment by russ — Nov 23, 2007 @ 1:56 pm
While I am happy the folks in the SCEE territory are getting a proper amount of loving, can we please spread some of the Folklore DLC love stateside? Folklore is the only retail game I own for the PS3, and I’d love to extend its life-span a bit more.
Comment by Kain-Xavier — Nov 23, 2007 @ 2:39 pm
I think we deserve to have a whinge if we want to!
The problem is that the other consoles are doing it all so much better, even Nintendo with their anti-online approach, no trailers, no demos, have over 150 games available to download, usually 3 each week without fail.
Yes Europe got some Eyetoy stuff first but London Studio was responsible for the development of most of it.
The fact of the matter is that Sony hasn’t delivered on its promises. So we’re entitled to a moan!
Bring on some more PS1 goodness and fix the rubbish shop front end, unify the stores and content, even if it’s just within Europe and people will be happier.
Is that too much to ask really in the run up to Christmas?
Comment by Mousie — Nov 23, 2007 @ 2:49 pm
@russ: I realize this, but a unified store will never ever happen I think. Things like some games being financially uninteresting to send out with costs covered for translations and age certifications for instance. Or globally delaying games waiting for translations and age certifications. Consumer confusion in non-English European countries would be another argument against it.
I think our hope should be more pointed towards Sony allowing us (advanced multilingual users) to buy games from the US store. That way we can get everything the US gets at least without having to wait and Sony don’t have to risk consumer confusion, being forced to spend money on games the Europeans don’t really want etc.
As a sidenote, if I am to make a guess why the European store has so few PS1 games is that they don’t really sell very well. Thus it is simply not worth the cost for Sony to make them available. At the end of the day Sony wants to earn money from their business so any reason for not putting something out in Europe lies there, not in ‘we hate European gamers’ or similarly silly statements.
Comment by Christian — Nov 23, 2007 @ 2:50 pm
Drakes demo is stunning. So well made and just great fun to play. And the massive attack trailer was ace - showed a lot more than i knew about the game. lots of different locations and action scenes etc. Can’t wait.
One issue I have with the PSN is the bandwidth meltdown which comes with a big release. it was the same with the Ratchet demo, the servers just slowed to a crawl and i didnt get a chance to play that until the friday morning. ok, not a huge deal, but a 1GB file should take about an hour or two on 4MB DSL… not 7 hours
Comment by SH4RKY — Nov 23, 2007 @ 2:59 pm
PC store is a god send for those of us without a PS3! =D
I only wish the store took my card and it displayed the file sizes.
Comment by Benny — Nov 23, 2007 @ 3:03 pm
A few things:
1) Thanks for telling us whats up it saves me wasting time going into the PSN
2) lol at the update
3) I havent logged into PSN for over 2 weeks and wont be in the forseable future
4) I know its free so I decided not to use it
I’ve said before week in week out people complain. Actions speak louder than words dont log into PSN store tell your friends/family as well. They’ll soon realise whats wrong.
Comment by anon — Nov 23, 2007 @ 4:45 pm
And German PS3 users would like to FINALLY be able to download 16+ rated content from the PSN Store - which hasn’t been possible since launch (unlike the competition, which offers 16+ and 18+ rated content on their German marketplace).
Come on, SCEE. Get your bums up and fix it. I want my Uncharted demo, too! It gets annoying.
Comment by RealityCheckKH — Nov 23, 2007 @ 6:04 pm
where is Vegas Video Poker,
is it that hard to translate the ace of spades???
again looking also at the Us PC store of the PSN,
we get screwed again..
stop treating the EU as a 3rd world country
its almost 2008 not 1845
Comment by Darkie — Nov 24, 2007 @ 2:17 am
erm… @ everyone complaining,
you have actually been to the PC Store right? you realise that it is a PSP only store, and that the old yourpsp.com no longer exists? This is a replacement for that in the style of the PS3 store. They never will be combined because they are for different consoles
Comment by John — Nov 25, 2007 @ 9:41 am
@31 - your reasons are common reasons which i hear.
firstly, within the UK at least, certificates from the BBFC are currently only required on SOLID STATE media. Basically, downloadable content does not need a certificate. That was the reason there was talk about Manhunt 2 finding a legal get-around.
secondly, how high can costs be on distributing internationally? There is no need for PSN games to have publicity. PSN games do not need to have boxes and artwork printed. There is very little extra cost involved.
And finally - is it REALLY that hard to translate a PSN game to English, French, German, and so on? Does Piyotama REALLY need that much text translating?
