Just a quick one to let you know that Sony confirmed to CVG earlier today that LittleBigPlanet is on track for a September 2008 release. Producer Kyle Shubel spoke of an autumn release at their CES presentation yesterday and the September release was confirmed to CVG this morning. Kyle Shubel also talked of a public beta before the game’s release – although no specific details were revealed.

i bet it ends up being nearer December 08 release. to be honest unless it’s in the store or on the shelf in the shop i am past caring for all the hype and rumors and false promises from Sony and the rest of the crew.

How dare they delay the release of games to improve them!

ThreeSpeech - this warrants putting a littlebigplanet picture theme back on the site!

@2: I totally agree. there was a time when release dates excited me but Sony have worn me down over the last couple of years with almost every game, system or update slipping at least once. I don’t feel any excitement about a game now until I’m holding it in my hands

@6 - REVIEWS not PREVIEWS!

What ever happened to Haze?
I have to reflect the sentiments of some of the others. Release dates don’t mean a damn thing anymore.

Since MM is a UK company is there any chance that TS can hold a special get together with them where some of us can get our names drawn out of hat to get to see LBP up close.
@ Justin : According to Amazon.co.uk
“This item will be released on December 30, 2008″, but I saw on PS3Fanboy that they reckon it will be out my March. I suppose if you convince yourself that it’s coming out at the end of the year, it will be a nice surprice when it come out in March.

Little Big Planet is the game that Shiguri Miyamoto WISHED he’d invented and J Allard would’ve LOVED to have bribed the developer for, to make it exclusive to Microsoft.

[…] However, there are still possibilities of playing this game earlier than that. One of these posibilities is taking Kaz Hirai hostage, forcing him to let you play an early build, but a more realistic chance would be to hope you’re invited for the beta. Details about this beta haven’t been disclosed yet, but it will probably be at least a month before the release. […]

In the meantime Eurogamer have run reviews of Pain and Everyday Shooter. Are we finally going to get these this week?

I’m going to jump on BlitzBasic now and see if I can fashion my own LBP and beat the September release date…

It’ll turn out the same as Home, by the time it comes out many people may not care and there is every chance in the meantime someone will come out with something similar if not better.

Where is Wipeout HD, still no release date. mor broken promises. I agree with about 90% of the people here, I’ll get excited when I’ve bought it, in the mean time I hope something else comes along and betters it, that’ll teach them for riding on hype.

Im glad thier taking thier time with this one. It makes no sense to rush it when thiers so much potential thier. Who cares if the hype has died out by then and people have moved on, i know i will still have a copy in my hands.
