Rubbish Store update again.
Where is this official statement from Sony why the EU store still continues to suck for content, and localisation excuse is poor.
I’ll be getting the Jericho demo from the US store since if I wait for it to appear on the EU store it will be out in the shops already.
Please threespeech get someone from Sony to speak up and give us a definate reason why in general the EU store is poor.

Not a very good week to be honest, but I’ll get Jericho from the US store. Hopefully the Feel Ski trailer means that the game will be out next week. Also looking forward to the R&C demo due out in a few weeks, SCEE better not f*ck us around on that one otherwise I’m gonna get real mad!
Threespeech, I read a comment on Eurogamer that said that for PSN purposes the current structure of SCEJ, SCEA and SCEE is going to be replaced by a single entity. Do you know if there is any truth in this?

Cerrrrrrrrrrrrap. let’s make updates the same world wide huh?
Comment by phonicpod — Sep 28, 2007 @ 12:36 pm
I’ve been pretty quiet up till now about our updates since the biggest things won’t be out till some time next year (Guns of the Patriots, Littlebigplanet, KIllzone 2 etc.), this isn’t the worst update yet, some downloadable content for games, but it’s not exactly good. The Folklore demo again!? The one that “Could only be downloaded untill August 31st”, or something along those lines, so basically one new demo for a game that isn’t exactly on the top of people’s minds this year. Now we’ve just had TGS 07, so I was almost expecting the new MGS 4 trailer (which has been translated already) to be on here, but no, out of the whole of TGS 07, we have…….. three videos. The stuff after E3 and Leipzig was far better. I think I’ve made my point is this fairly long ramble. Do something, make our comments heard all the way to Kaz or Jack.

How are people still complaining about the updates, we got a demo for Folklore which America did not get. We are getting the Ratchet and Jericho demos next week as well, so I would day there is nothing to complain about at all (except for maybe the lack of Classic Games, which we have almost none of).
Comment by Mace — Sep 28, 2007 @ 12:49 pm
And in other news, translators are absolutely swamped on the Super Puzzle Fighter. The MASSIVE job of translating this title will keep translators busy around the clock of months frantically working within a stressful deadline of 2 months after the US PSN release.
The translation excuse doesn’t wash.

Folklore is a nice game. I fell in love with it since the first images I saw, then it became a sure purchase after playing the Japanese demo, and with the other demos I fell in love with it even more. It’s not a GOTY, but it’s pretty nice and fun to play and it has such a nice and dramy look.
Comment by lain — Sep 28, 2007 @ 12:54 pm
Nice for Folklore, will certainly be a great game. But why can’t we have a PES2008 demo, when it’s available on 360 and PC ?! One of the most wanted game for PS3… I just don’t understand…
Comment by melux — Sep 28, 2007 @ 1:03 pm
World-wide updates would be great. i find myself looking on the US store before I bother with the UK one. I have Folklore demo and was plesently surprised how good it was, I wanted to continue playing more after I finished the demo. Folklore demo has been available since the end of August I think it was. I think it was the US store it was on? People seem to think that Folklore is a new demo on the store. The only answer I can think of is that the Demo was on the store of certain PSN accounts, i.e G.A.P. members.

Again borring and embarrassing. We already got a demo of Folklore. Bring us the content of the US store already! And bring on a lot of PS one games!

@ 8
Iain - cheers for your account on Folklore. Sounds & looks intriguing.
Comment by mrsatansdojo — Sep 28, 2007 @ 1:30 pm
It’s probably worth pointing out that its meant to be a different Folklore demo to the limited one released during Leipzig; it’s the translated version of the demo from the Japanese store.
Comment by Matthew — Sep 28, 2007 @ 2:07 pm
Downloaded Folklore of the Jap store yonks ago. Played and deleted.
R&C demo now delayed until 11th October.
Pro Evo demo gone awol.
Why do the stores get updated on set days out of interest? Surely that just increases the load on the systems infrastructure on that particular day. Content should be uploaded as and when it’s ready and we should be notified as such. An RSS XMB feed would be neat.
Bring back the days of Norio Ohga when Sony listen to their consumers!

I sincerely hope the makers of that skiing game are joking.
It looks like the worst game evere invented.
Here is a very interesting idea form Pig Face on the uk PS3 forum.
Would anyone be interested in forming a gamer`s union?
We could vote on issues and action eg. boycotting a microtransaction if the majority of members considered it bad value or if they felt it had been purposely held back from the original game.
It would give us an official voice and unified courses of action to take when things were not going our way.
We could have delegates who meet up with sony execs and developers to put forward the members concerns and ideas.
I think we should all go for it.
Comment by Ton Capone — Sep 28, 2007 @ 3:05 pm
You know the sad part, the more complaining that EU users make, the more ‘I will go to the US store’ will probably more likely prompt Sony to come up with a mechanism to lock us out of the US store before they work on improving our content.
Comment by zetsurin — Sep 28, 2007 @ 3:26 pm
The worst thing of all about the PSN store updates are the gripes listed here. I don’t expect a demo of every game or months before release, I don’t expect worldwide simultaneous release (we all have a JP and a US account tucked away to bypass this anyway, I’d be surprised if this was blocked) - I also think the PS3 proves itself as a powerful flexible console as all these different software houses are updating there wares in interesting ways. Next PSN update, perhaps we can lay off the same complaints as it WILL be months before Sony can realistically address them
Comment by MrJimmy — Sep 28, 2007 @ 4:28 pm
crap. again. thanks.
Comment by Mike — Sep 28, 2007 @ 4:49 pm
Where is Tekken Online Update ?
Where is Blast Factor Update Update ?
This is REALLY SUCKS. Doesn’t Sony want to earn some money ? I would by these two.
Comment by Chris — Sep 28, 2007 @ 7:21 pm
ive just purchased Lair in the US Tax inc 54$
ive spoken to some people (prof gamers) here,
and the only thing to force sony to do something is to speak up, create havok, by creating content pushing the negative word out.
when im back in the EU, im gonna create a website and gonna hyperlink it in every message
Comment by Darkie — Sep 28, 2007 @ 10:12 pm
localization issues?
what a big bunch of crap! you know what? both jericho and sega rally demos were already in german! so why does (like sega rally) gets europe the shaft again with the jericho demo?
those scee stupids are really lazy and should be fired for their lazyness right away!

SCEE once again showing utter contempt for its customers. We pay the most, get the least and are treated like thieving beggars for asking why it is we’re treated so shoddily.
ThreeSpeech appears to be the very embodiment of this contempt. The US gets a dedicated blog direct from SCEA and we get THIS.
SCEE seems to have no interest in a dialogue with its customers and so treats us to third-hand, late and often inaccurate “news” and “views” from shills and “connected” fanboys.
You’ve been operating in the EU for over ten years now and still havent worked out how to translate shit.
First thing to do is promote David Reeves to a position where he doesnt have to soil his hands with us filthy peasants. Next, hire someone that remembers that without us, they wouldnt have a job, and that a little respect can go a long, long way.
Even Nintendo have remembered they have a European fanbase and look how thats working out for them.
Is this the arrogance that Sony has become famous for or just pure incompetence? Either way, it doesnt look good and as a paying customer it certainly doesnt feel good.
