Comment by Draxredd — Oct 26, 2007 @ 10:20 am
I can foresee a bunch of posts saying how great this is and “thanks Sony”
Remember a lot of this has been available elsewhere for a while. Well done SCEE for catching up - slowly.
Comment by Shrui — Oct 26, 2007 @ 10:20 am
This is great, thanks Sony.
Seriously though, i think it is a good update. My poor PS3 will be red hot by the time i get home from all the downloading it is doing today. Gonna get myself an EYE later and see if it is any good.
Did any one have problems with the store/servers last night? I couldn’t connect till about 10:30pm.
Comment by Si Doob — Oct 26, 2007 @ 10:34 am
@Shrui, well the fact that we got such a giant release this time might be a sign that things are going to change. My impression is that Sony has realized the frustration of the community and have decided to decouple the national stores in Europe as a way to try to address this.
And positive feedback on this shop update can only be positive and cause SCEE to decide that this is a good approach.
Comment by Christian — Oct 26, 2007 @ 10:34 am
Nice one, better update than the US and Jap stores. Well done.
Comment by VoodooCharlie — Oct 26, 2007 @ 10:43 am
Ok, this looks promising. I’ll refrain for complaining this week
Comment by zetsurin — Oct 26, 2007 @ 10:48 am
Sony are making good on their promises of improving the European store. The updates this week are fantastic. I’m really happy with this! Will definitely have to get myself the Playstation Eye on the way home from work! Nice one Sony!
Comment by reakt — Oct 26, 2007 @ 10:49 am
Woo R&C and no more lair nonsense, gets my vote! Excellent update.
Comment by Si — Oct 26, 2007 @ 10:49 am
Of this release:
Games:
1 already released on US store AGES ago
4 only playable if you have the Eye.
Demos:
Both available on US store already
Game Videos:
3 out of 5 availble on US store for some time
Trailers:
Nice diversion for a few minutes but not really what we’re here for is it?
The only progress I’m seeing is there isn’t another bloody dead horse flogging session again (Lair).
So again I refer to my original post, this is catch up. There is no sign of progress here.
Comment by Shrui — Oct 26, 2007 @ 10:54 am
Average update unless you have Playstation Eye, but the thing that really pissed me off is that they put a trailor up for tekken online, i mean what the f&*k is that all about???? jesus christ, you have to have tekken anyweay to play it so why do we need a trailor for the gameplay, surly they should have just put the online mode up by now.
to be honest im gonna rant every week untill the put Super Puzzle fighter up or an equivalent classic game, so see you next thursday(friday in this case because threespeach where being lazy, lol), and have fun watching the trailors!!!

Damn, forgot in my prev post about the insult of the Tekken trailer. Next week it will be another Everyday Shooter Trailer.
And I’m in the same mood as you. I’m at the point after week on week disappointment where its going to take something wonderful before I get positive about SCEE.

Was pleasantly surprised at the content when I managed to get on last night, have left it downloading a fair chunk of it while I’m at work today. Still deciding whether to bother with the Eye just yet…
Comment by Dan (PSN - Detale) — Oct 26, 2007 @ 11:45 am
Does anybody know where i can buy a Playstation Eye from today? Not really interested in buying online, too impatient for that. I have tried Game and Game Station both of whom are only selling it with Eye of Judgement, which i don’t want, for £69.99 !!!! Asda, Tesco, WH Smith, Comet AND Currys do not have any in store. Any ideas anyone?
Comment by Si Doob — Oct 26, 2007 @ 11:57 am
dear threespeech,
thanx for this widespread information,
this also shows that sony creates their own difficulties and negative vibes on the store..
see e.g. tony Hawk, there is no reason it could be released in the netherlands (our second language is English)
why not stardust the movietrailer, we can see it on quicktime.com/movietrailers also..
again give the people the possibillity for day 1 views in english and if people prefer their own language they have to wait longer…
we’r talking 2k7,almost 2k8 not 1955,where you had to go to your neighbour to ask if he want to shutoff his fridge,so your hood had enough power to allow you to make a phonecall
I want to buy pyomoto, vegas poker etc..
Comment by Darkie — Oct 26, 2007 @ 12:03 pm
Picked up Eye of Judgment this morning (will be interested in some kind of FIGHT with someone later if you’re up for it..), anyone downloaded any of the PS Eye based games?
Care to comment before I chuck my beautiful english pounds away?
Also, have to say that I was pretty annoyed with the retailers this morning, GAME in particular.
Pre-ordered this game for £59.99, go and pick it up: £69.99! (Same with HMV) In my opinion £70.00 is a bit bloody steep for this game, even if the PS Eye is included..
I’m right aren’t I?
Comment by GIANT ENEMY CRAB — Oct 26, 2007 @ 12:03 pm
You’re not wrong GIANT ENEMY CRAB. I can’t justify paying 70 quid for what is basically gloryfied top trumps. Can’t seem to find the Eye on it’s own though.
Comment by Si Doob — Oct 26, 2007 @ 12:24 pm
Im just glad pixel junk has been released. I loved the demo and have been waiting patiently for it. Finally its here.. and I LOVE it. shame no online tho..
Comment by Carl Busby — Oct 26, 2007 @ 12:28 pm
@ Si Doob
The Eye won’t be coming out to buy on it’s own for a few more weeks yet..
£70 is far too much, if I hadn’t of pre-ordered and bothered going down there, I wouldn’t have spent the cash.
Comment by GIANT ENEMY CRAB — Oct 26, 2007 @ 12:32 pm
Cheers GIANT ENEMY CRAB, looks like i’ll have to wait then. This weeks update suddenly isn’t looking so good. Gonna give Pixel Junk Racers a chance instead.
Comment by Si Doob — Oct 26, 2007 @ 12:49 pm
Play.com have got the ‘eye’ listed on it’s own for £24.99 but it’s not released (according to them) until 9/11/2007
Eye of Judgement is not for me, so I’ll be waiting.
Comment by Demibeard — Oct 26, 2007 @ 12:49 pm
We don’t get the camera in the EU for another 2 weeks, so most won’t own it yet. Sony releases the eye games anyway. US gets the camera on it’s own, but doesn’t get the games yet. DUH!!!
We’re on the right track, sony, but get a move on and get us up to speed with the US. I’m bored of the idea of Tekken Online and Puzzle Fighter. I WAS going to buy them, but now I’m bored. It’s your loss of sale.
Comment by russ — Oct 26, 2007 @ 1:40 pm
i tried to be positive this week see post 19
however just got confirmation from my gamestore that in contradiction to what was told EYE to be released on 26-10
on the day itself, without communication ,also in/from the gamestores, it is being delayed to 9-11.
Sony,or SO-NOT as you are being called by the gaming community.
normale the store is crap but now you even managed to give us gasoline for the car and we have to wait 2 weeks to purchase the car.
WHY!!!!!!
again where is tekken online, puzzle fighter, pyomoto, vegas Poker,
we are fed up being screwed week by week,
and now we want spend money on your console,
but we can’t,means only 1 thing,
the other console is most likely to get the money, since they have their gameplan better developed.
Even Nintendo has a better support,
a company which didn’t even have any online-support in the previous consolewar..
Delaystation 3,sony embarrasment for the future……
Comment by Darkie — Oct 26, 2007 @ 2:04 pm
Nice update, thanks. Seems like there are a lot of people here that would complain whatever went up on the store.
I reckon SCEE have enough full games lined up now to release at least one every week until xmas, which was probably the plan all along.
Comment by uberleet — Oct 26, 2007 @ 2:17 pm
@27 Darkie - I am also a little disappointed that the Eye is not released on it’s own today.
However, if you search these page you’ll see that Three Speech already told us on October 17th that the camera would not be released in stand-alone form until 7th November. I had read this at the time, but forgotten about it until today.
I don’t agree with your rant about Sony not giving us the car but giving us the gasoline. Lots of people will purchase EOJ so they’ll have the car today [camera]. The rest of us will have to wait a couple of weeks. Is it really a big deal?
Comment by reakt — Oct 26, 2007 @ 2:36 pm

Comment by Terry — Oct 26, 2007 @ 2:50 pm
@29,if it was that simple, i just visited 5 different stores (bart smit,Free record shop,dixons,mediamarkt,e-plaza,the 5 biggest in holland)
no one recieved either the camera nor the EoJ packages,or was able to give me an estimate when EoJ would be available…
that was/is my whole problem…..
and another reason to start a rand about another dissappointment of delaystation-distribution)
Comment by Darkie — Oct 26, 2007 @ 4:42 pm
Dear Sony,
If the game is in English please release the game in ALL countries that speak English like New Zealand, Australia and the UK. You have regional stores so why not release the god dam product. I was going to buy Pixel Junk, tekken online AND Super Puzzle fighter BUT I wont now because I got sick of waiting.
Also $15 for Pixel Junk? It only cost $5 in the US and the NZ dollar is 0.90 cents to the US dollar. There is no reason to charge us 3 times the price. You cant say its distribution cost because there is no physical media and transport costs, you cant say it was translated because IT WAS ALREADY IN ENGLISH, you cant say you needed to hire more people because the online store is SELF SERVICE.
I might buy Everyday shooter if it comes out next week, or if it doesnt you will have to drop the price and chagre us the SAME AS/OR LESS THAN THE US.
Comment by Carl Crawford — Oct 26, 2007 @ 4:57 pm
i moan, the eyecreate software is NOT compatible with the eyetoy!!this is another knife in the ribs from sony. there is no reason it shouldn’t have been so, and as far as i’m concerned the ability to take a snapshot should have been an XMB option as we all ready have the option to trim pictures and mail them to buddies. i can use the eyetoy to video chat and as a mic during online play already. this is just a pathetic attempt by sony to get us to buy yet another thing we don’t really need! the fact that NO-ONE stocks the new eye kinda sticks in the neck too seeing all the ps3 eye only stuff to download in the store this week. Jokes over Sony, i’m sure you’re all having a good laugh at our expense. do none of you have ANY common sense?
Comment by mobiletone — Oct 26, 2007 @ 6:47 pm
but i do have to say thanks to the guys for the Motorstorm halloween skin for the truck. any idea what 3.0 update did though?
Comment by mobiletone — Oct 26, 2007 @ 6:49 pm
also.. MotorStorm Update 3.0 provides the following changes:
* Added vibration support for DUALSHOCK 3 controller with adjustable sensitivity settings.
* Grid order has been randomised for first race in any online lobby.
* Finishing positions in your last race now determine your starting grid position in the next race within the same online lobby.
* On-screen indicator has been added to show whether voice comms are issuing from TV or headset – As before, please press and hold L1 (R1 if using control scheme ‘B’) to toggle headset output through TV or Headset.
* Sensitivity Settings for SIXAXIS™ Motion Sensor control have been added.
* ‘Gloating Index’ has been added to the Stats card – The Gloating index gives guidance as to a racer’s online prowess. It takes into account the number of people you’ve beaten in each race and the number of people that have beaten you. Use the gloating index to spot the players to beat in each race! Try and rank your Gloating Index up to the perfect ‘10’!
* Several causes for an occasional snagging issue which would destroy vehicles on suspension impact have been addressed.
* Further fixes to prevent the occasional statistics reset issue have been applied.
* Fixed an occasional issue with inaccuracies in Eliminator finishing results.
* Fixed an issue where winners leaving Eliminator before race completed could cause issues for other players in lobby.
AND we won’t be getting the dualshock joypads until next spring!! Bloody good MS update though.
Comment by mobiletone — Oct 26, 2007 @ 7:36 pm
I was wondering if I am the only one who has Trials of Topoq and Creature Feature hang on the loading screen. There is no HD activity and my eye works fine with the EOJ. I’ve downlaoded twice now on different days but it seems to me the files are faulty. Has this happened to anyone else as I feel I’ve wasted £7
Comment by erinshore — Oct 26, 2007 @ 8:59 pm
Does Aqua Vite REQUIRE the Eye, only ask as I liked the look of it before I knew it was for use with the Eye, its not high on my list of purchases at the moment due to my car falling apart - joy.
Comment by Terry — Oct 27, 2007 @ 1:25 am
@38 Terry
Yeah it does. I had the same idea about it and bought it, the eye interaction is surely just a bolt on I thought.
Sadly it won’t start without an eye connected. Thankfully only £2 wasted.
Comment by Shrui — Oct 27, 2007 @ 12:28 pm
I want to echo some of the comments above:
Please make it FAR MORE OBVIOUS on the Store that these games don’t work with the old EyeToy (and for cynical business reasons rather than technical ones - disappointing in this Net2.0 age).
I wouldn’t mind a nag telling me how much better PSEye is than EyeToy, but to ignore it when the XMB supports it is insulting (writing off the £2 to bad eyesight).
Do not buy any of these unless you have PSEye - they don’t even show you what you’re missing (and Aqua Vite just goes into an infinite loop if there’s no PSEye - *great* engineering, people).
Comment by nemo — Oct 27, 2007 @ 5:29 pm
I was gonna buy aqua im sure it does not say anything about the eye either, also thanks for the tip.
Comment by BENNE77 — Oct 28, 2007 @ 9:40 am
I’m going to have to agree with “Shrui”. Why is the Euro PSN playing “catchup” all the time with US and Japan?
Oh, I know. It’s just like any other product that they release, including the DelayStation3 itself. First, the “important” territories are served and then we get it.
From the initial release of PlayStation 1, right up to these disappointing late PSN releases, Sony has treated Euroland as a third-hand territory, so why pretend that it’s any different this time or ever?
Want an example? Certainly: How about Gran Turismo 5 and Metal Gear Solid 4? If they don’t get delayed in Europe, I’ll eat my digital words!
Want another example? No probs: Try DualShock3 - can anyone tell me which territory will get that last?
Answers on a postcard…
Comment by Zed Zee — Oct 28, 2007 @ 12:16 pm
So right Zed Zee and the “funniest” thing of all is even though we get everything late we have to pay far more for the privelage.
Comment by BENNE77 — Oct 28, 2007 @ 5:12 pm
and again Nintendo’s WII surpases the PSN,
after the weatherchannel, the Newschannel, surveychannel for everyone,
they get in december a giftchannel (where you can buy games online and give them to your friends as gifts) and a TV-EPG guide…
sorry SO-NOT,but again the worst of the 3 consoles got the best of all.
where is HOME?
(with more than the trailertheater, buggy checkers & 5 arcade games)
its more and more that the competition is driving at the speed of 70 Mph on the Highway, where Sony’ (PS3) (and especially SCEE) is doing 30 Mph,and even getting passed by grannies driving a PS2
Comment by Darkie — Oct 28, 2007 @ 9:56 pm
In light of the above, Sony please make it clear if you need to have a certain piece of equipment to use a piece of software even moreso if there is a financialoutlay involve. 2 quid isn’t a lot, but its the best part of a pint. Could Three Speech also notify us of what is required?
Ta.
Comment by Terry — Oct 29, 2007 @ 11:08 am
Where is TEKKEN ONLINE ?!?
Where is BLAST FACTOR ADVANCED RESEARCH ?!?
Bought both, but Sony ist kidding us not releasing the updates !
Give us games and your profit this year will be better.
Comment by Chris — Oct 29, 2007 @ 4:50 pm
Heres another problem. The games Creature Feature and Topoq wont load on a japanese import ps3 yet Aqua Vita does. I thought they were aiming for region free or is this an unforseen programming glitch? I just wasted £7 on these so I thought I’d warn you this could be a taste of things to some for those of you who got an import machine. I can just see the price of the ps3 I’d get if it was sold on ebay.
Comment by erinshore — Oct 30, 2007 @ 10:41 am
I also bought Creature Feature for my Japanese PS3 (I relocated from Japan so I sure as hell aren’t going to sell it and buy a domestic model) and it locks at the loading screen. Does anyone know who/why I can contact the relevant area at Sony to try to get this refunded? I guess I could dispute the credit card transaction because as far as I am concerned I have been sold a faulty item.
