New Warhawk™ downloadable pack coming to PLAYSTATION®Network this December
Announcing Operation: Omega Dawn
Get a brand new map and a new aircraft: the awesome KT-424 Combat Dropship. All this in one download from PLAYSTATION®Network
The battle began this August when Warhawk™ went online on PLAYSTATION®Network (PSN). Since then, the fighting has spanned the globe as PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) gamers of all nationalities battle for supremacy in this world of multiplayer military confrontation. Whether you’re fending for yourself or enlisting in a team of Eucadian or Chernovan forces to wage war on foot, at the controls of a tank or from the cockpit of the fearsome Warhawk, there’s non-stop action ahead in Warhawk – and it’s about to get even better with the PSN release of Operation: Omega Dawn, the first downloadable Warhawk expansion pack exclusively available from PLAYSTATION®Store. Operation: Omega Dawn delivers a new gameplay experience that expands the title’s strategic gameplay elements by offering a new world to explore and introducing a unique aircraft to the Warhawk universe: the awesome KT-424 Combat Dropship.
With Operation: Omega Dawn, the war between the Eucadians and the Chernovans forces continues as the two countries fight to control the high-tech facilities of a critical new battlefield – the Omega Factory. The battle takes place in an entirely new world - an industrial night-time setting where players will fight through five new layouts of advanced building complexes and huge industrial towers. The new map supports all existing game modes – including Team Deathmatch, Zone Mode and Capture the Flag – and is the largest combat zone to date for Warhawk!
But that’s not all; no new battlefield would be complete without a new piece of kit, and Operation: Omega Dawn comes complete with a serious toy which will enhance the already intense Warhawk experience: the KT-424 Combat Dropship. You’ll activate the vehicle once you gain control of one of the many weapons factories on the world; once you have it, you’re in charge of an advanced aircraft capable of carrying seven soldiers and a ground vehicle at once. The KT-424 Combat Dropship transports 1 pilot, 6 soldiers and 1 ground vehicle; and features a deadly new weapon – the MBEC-3 Heavy Support Cannon. You’ll have loads of opportunity to take full advantage of the new KT-424 Combat Dropship because the new world is full of vertical gameplay which integrates ship decks, raised platforms, and factory rooftops accessible only by airborne deployment.
Are you ready for Operation: Omega Dawn? Only the fiercest, most visionary and most disciplined teams of soldiers can hope to carry the day. We’ll see you there – locked and loaded - on PSN this December.
Operation: Omega Dawn pack features:
Set at night for added impact and tension, the Operation: Omega Dawn pack for Warhawk™ features an enhanced level of teamwork, tactics and coordinated aerial assaults with the new KT-424 Combat Dropship.
* Omega Factory battlefield includes 5 new map layouts featuring advanced building complexes and huge industrial towers.
* KT-424 Combat Dropship transports 1 pilot, 6 soldiers and 1 ground vehicle; and features a deadly new weapon – the MBEC-3 Heavy Support Cannon.
* The 5 large layouts from the original battlefields have been modified to include the KT-424 Combat Dropship.
* All this in one single download from PLAYSTATION Network this December
ENDS

Night time battle should provide some extra fun, Warhawk is still one of my favorites, even though I have graphically more pretty COD4 also.

Yes! Finally! A night time map and the new dropship! This should extend the value and fun of Warhawk much further. Love the game and I’ll without doubt get this pack!
Comment by proog — Nov 23, 2007 @ 6:12 pm
Doubt it’s free but it sounds like a worthy paid-expansion. This along with Warhawk 1.2 will get me playing again.
Comment by Shin-Ra — Nov 23, 2007 @ 6:17 pm
This is a pretty cool update. I hope its free. This will be my new favorite map when this comes out.
Comment by Dehshizknight — Nov 23, 2007 @ 6:50 pm
Great! Hopefull the first of many add-ons
Comment by 2Madre — Nov 23, 2007 @ 6:52 pm
YES!! Warhawk just got better, now all we need is a snow based map and we’ve covered pretty much every landscape. I can’t wait for the drop ships.

Nice to see more content. Just make sure it’s priced well, or better yet free. If you’re going to charge us make sure it goes free for everyone at some point in the near future. You don’t wanna fall into the mistakes that Insomniac made with their overpriced community splintering downloadable content.
Comment by Spectre — Nov 23, 2007 @ 8:20 pm
It wont be free but who cares!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on Warhawk
Comment by Sony Boy — Nov 23, 2007 @ 8:34 pm
Wow, can’t wait to see this! Then I can’t wait to play it!
Comment by Matthew — Nov 23, 2007 @ 8:41 pm
Hopefully they didn’t make the mistake of leaving the air ship completely defenseless against air to air attacks. Some mounted weapons onboard would be a nice touch.
And I’m expecting this to be free. Whether or not it is will decide the fate of my copy of Warhawk ^_^

This may just bring me back to the warhawk folds after the debacle of patches and flag campers and flag tossing.

While i know this game supports one of the largest multiplayer online missions, i was hoping this expansion pack would allow for games with more than 32 players in a map.
I really like the intensity of larger multiplayer games and i think that with the features in the expansion increasing the 32 player limitation is in order.
Comment by greedy person — Nov 24, 2007 @ 2:56 am
meh it will be like the resistance maps, great forthe first 2 or 3 days then will never be used again because not everybody has them.
Comment by Carl — Nov 24, 2007 @ 6:32 am
The topic im going to right about. see below. Is a concern on what may very well happen to the 360, in the near future. It’s not flamebait, it’s simply an open your eyes and see whats really going on comment.
Here it goes,
Dam whats microsoft going to do now, no more HALO, mass effect dev (bioware) is now owned by EA, Bizzare left (no more PGR5.) I really cant see the xbox 360 future going anywhere. Now that Bungie and other devs left, what is MS going to do for 1st party. MS 1st party is weak as it is, just look at some recent games crackdown, shadowrun….YIKES. They now have to rely on 3rd party support, and form the looks of it. Almost every games is going multiplatform, so you (fanboys) ask your selves…. what is MS going to do for exclusives?
Gears of War 2 wont save xbox 360, what else Fable 2 NOPE. Too Human probabley a big flop. Seriuosly you guys should be worrying on the xbox 360 long term plan, no games in the making, no games exclusivly coming out anytime soon.
Other companies have planned ahead, for ex.) Nintendo. They have been working on Smash Bros for awhile, that will be huge. Sony. They have MGS4, Killzone 2, LBP, GOD of WAR 3 and alot of other great exclusives like GT5, Final Fantasy, InFAMOUS, HAZE, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, ill stop there i dont want to make this list go on for ever, I am limited to 3,000 characters here.
I just wanted to point out that the xbox 360 is in big trouble. Sure short term has done them well, but going into 2008 and b3yond the 360 is in {BIG} trouble. Now go on try and bash this comment, even though its all true.

Who agrees, any comments. Sure that was off topic but i needed to share that info.
I love and play warhawk all the time, its probabley my favorite online game for my PS3. The pack sounds really good, its a must buy.
Bigger than any other map. YES!
Comment by Lp47 — Nov 24, 2007 @ 6:42 am
For people wondering whom my comment was intended for, it was for a 360 fanboys, but i decided to share the info to boost your confidence levels.

Easy Lp47, how long have you worked for Sony?
Comment by Trevor — Nov 24, 2007 @ 7:19 am
New map should be sweet, just starting to get the hang of this game, the expansion should keep it fresh.
Hope it’s no more than a fiver.

I’m hoping to get Warhawk from father Christmas.
Well I have not been a particularly good boy, but I have tried.
PS. TS, has the server been down for a day or so? I couldn’t connect until this afternoon.
Comment by Savage — Nov 24, 2007 @ 8:50 pm
I don’t really care about wii60 owners or their consoles - this is a playstation blog!
This sounds like a cool expansion - I’ve been neglecting WH for COD4 & R&C (as well as GT5P-demo) - though truthfully I’ve been using my PS3 mostly for watching movies recently because it’s what’s plugged in to the projector and too much big-screen FPS makes me seasick.
Comment by Europe is bigger than USA — Nov 25, 2007 @ 3:22 am
Lp47, apart from being completely off topic, what you have said isn’t entirely true. For example Bungie haven’t “left” they have only gone second party, which means that they will still be developing for XBox, just as a seperate company, not owned 100% by Microsoft.
Comment by John — Nov 25, 2007 @ 9:53 am
Expansion pack sounds awesome. Just wondering if this DLC will be region free? I have a Japanese PS3 and the Japanese version of Motorstorm but bought the Devil’s Weekend pack off the Australian store and it did not work. I’m still waiting on a reply from Sony customer support. Can Sony let people know if DLC does not work across regions? I have a US import of Warhawk but do not have an account with the US store and I’m worried about downloading the expansion pack.
Comment by Matt — Nov 25, 2007 @ 2:10 pm
I hope its free.
If it isnt i bet u itz gnna be about £20 or somethin lol

[…] Messaggio inviato da kilokilo No raga …. ma e’ l’espansione del secolo per uno dei giochi multiplayer piu’ divertenti di sempre !! Three Speech WARHAWK EXPANSION PACK SOON COME! It should be FREE after all the problems this game has had as a matter of fact I’m tired of spending 60 bucks on a game that isnt that great and then they expect us to give them more money for some so called add ons that should’ve been in the game to begin with. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE my PS3 but this has got to stop somewhere. Ive got all the xpacks for motorstorm so that game alone has cost me 80 bucks for what so they could release a 2nd motorstorm. The consumers have to take a stand if this pack isnt FREE then NO ONE should buy it and maybe sony will get the message but I dout it
Comment by Mark — Nov 26, 2007 @ 1:38 am
I hope it’s quite dark, and the lights from my jeep work. Also hope we see ricocheting bullets, cos that would look special. Ooh boy. Will the Warhawks have running lights I wonder. This is very special indeed. I’ll be filtering for this map, can we do that?

I like the idea of having levels to shoot up and down at within the industrial landscape. I can’t help but imagine something akin to the Killzone environment. Oh no, look what I’ve done, now I’m wondering what has happened with Killzone. ThreeSpeech, can you use your influence and get us some info on that little blighter too please?

Don’t really care about 360, as for Warhawk should be good. where is wipeout HD?
Comment by Terry — Nov 26, 2007 @ 11:30 am
This exp pack can’t come quick enough - all we need then is the drawling US players to keep to their own servers and it’ll be good times!
Comment by Mr Jimmy — Nov 26, 2007 @ 1:42 pm
How many points do I get for shooting this sucker down? (when it’s full of troops and has the vehicle inside it!) Sounds great!
Comment by reakt — Nov 26, 2007 @ 1:53 pm
Most importantly, how much are they asking for it?
It should be free to early adopters.
Comment by Ton Capone — Nov 26, 2007 @ 2:14 pm
Perhaps we might be fortunate enough to get a wee patch that allows us to mute certain players along with the new stuff.
Hey, as an aside, has anyone ever been playing a few rounds on the same server with say 32 players, then suddenly, the very next game, only had five in? It’s happened to me twice. One particular game resulted in five players on one team, and only one on the other! With everyone asking where the others went. All rather odd. Anyway….
Has it arrived yet? Ooh! It’s like Christmas or something. You know the presents are there, but you’re unable to open them yet.
Comment by LordOfRuin — Nov 26, 2007 @ 3:22 pm
@ all those who think this product should be free:
Why should it be free? It’s not a patch, it’s an expansion pack. Developers can’t work just for the love of their art…
Comment by rooee — Nov 26, 2007 @ 3:26 pm
I’m guessing that the dropship will be REALLY slow and quite hard to kill. Imagine one of these bad boys looming towards an enemy position. Scary.
Comment by russ — Nov 26, 2007 @ 5:12 pm
@45
It should so be free as even at £19.99 the original was pretty shallow with not many levels and it’s online only with no single player, so yes it should be free.
